As part of the Portraits of merchants & professionals of Côte-des-Neiges project, we invited Zeineb Khalfallah (@zeineb_conscience on Instagram) to join us in our visit of 11 businesses of the SDC Côte-des-Neiges who have participated in the project.
Meet Chloë and Johanna | Portraits of merchants and professionals of Côte-des-Neiges
Learn more about your merchants and professionals of the Côte-des-Neiges district! // Let’s meet with : Chloë Fung, Dentist Associate and Johanna Pham, Founder of Clinique Dentaire Dr. Fung & Dr. Pham
Dr. Johana Pham and Dr. Chloë Fung have been caring for the oral health of Côte-des-Neiges residents in their dental office since 1986. For Johana, its founder, this initiative has allowed her to become independent and to choose the work method that suits her best.
“I launched my project to find a balance between my professional and personal life. I wanted flexibility in terms of hours and time off”, said Johana.
Before opening her clinic, she had the opportunity to practice in other places. Today, she appreciates the fact that she can make her own decisions.
Johana’s daughter, Chloë, followed her mother’s footsteps and recently joined the team as an associate. She used to do her homework in the dental office after school. Therefore, she is familiar with her current workplace.
Surprisingly, Chloë has known all the local merchants and many of the citizens since she was a child.
“My patients are like my family members! They knew me when I was young and now, I treat them. I think it’s funny!”, said the dentist.
Chloë, who loves challenges, has not always worked in Quebec. After her PhD, she had the opportunity to practice in the United States, where she got to explore a completely different culture.
“Even though it’s a six-hour flight from here, the lifestyle is totally different. I was able to discover many things during the year I spent in that country.”, said the young woman.
By working in Côte-des-Neiges, Chloë can also get to know new patients who settle in the area. The neighbourhood being diverse and busy, professionals never get bored!
“I see students, children, adults, seniors; patients come for different reasons, and I love having so much diversity in my daily routine,” explained Chloë.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Given the great success of its project «Portraits of Merchants and Professionals of Côte-des-Neiges» in 2021, the SDC Côte-des-Neiges is proud to present the second edition of the initiative through an exhibition as well as interviews. This project is aimed at putting residents in touch with businesses on the territory of the Société de développement commercial (SDC) Côte-des-Neiges. Through a series of portraits capturing the essence of 11 businesses, meet 17 owners and managers of local businesses. This social and cultural project is intended to be a real encounter with the human behind the professional. In this second edition, you will discover women and men, young professionals and experienced entrepreneurs, all from different cultures and backgrounds, providing a wide range of products and services. What do they all have in common? Their love for Côte-des-Neiges. Discover the exhibition on the Promenade Jean-Brillant and extend the experience online thanks to the heartfelt interviews carried out with each one of them.
Under the artistic direction of Félicia Balzano, general manager of the SDC Côte-des-Neiges, this project is an initiative of the SDC Côte-des-Neiges and made possible with the collaboration of the Maison de la culture CDN and the borough CDN- NDG.
