Lacombe piétonne! is back for a second edition!

After a resounding success in 2022, SDC Côte-des-Neiges is proud to hold its second edition of Lacombe piétonne! From September 12 to 17, Lacombe becomes pedestrianized for 6 days of festivities!

From Gatineau to Côte-des-Neiges, the avenue is transformed into an urban beach under the theme of “Last Beach Days at Copacabana” to celebrate the end of summer and the start of the new school year, day and night.

Even more days of pedestrianization, entertainment and performances, in a completely tropical atmosphere!

INAUGURATION DAY //

All day Tuesday, September 12, come and enjoy Lacombe Avenue and all it has to offer for Inauguration Day! Visit the shops and enjoy special programming between noon and 8:30 p.m.

Tuesday September 12 – 17:00 to 18:00 – avenue Lacombe – outdoor – free.

Saya Percussion brings you a colorful show of percussion and dance! The percussionists will take you on an energizing journey to the lands of Brazil!

Tuesday September 12 – 18:30 – 20:30 – avenue Lacombe – outdoor – free.

Canicule Tropicale will set the Avenue Lacombe alight. Philippe Noël and La Mano Peluda are two experienced collectors and experts in musical finds. On the program: tropical ambience to the rhythms of South America and the Caribbean! Come and dance like you’re at the beach!

Illustrator and muralist River June will bring life and color to Lacombe Avenue with a touch of urban art. Come and admire the beginnings of a mural featuring a South American climbing bird with a colorful beak!

Thursday September 14 – 17:00 – 18:00 – avenue Lacombe – outdoor – free.

Introduce yourself to samba with Levanta Samba and share the spirit of Brazilian culture. No matter what your level of experience, get ready to learn, dance and have fun. On the program: introduction to samba with choreography and a roda!

Lacombe piétonne will be vibrating to the rhythm of Montreal Dj NIABI (ny-ya-bi)!

Get ready to immerse yourself in her musical universe of dancehall, disco/funk, Brazilian funk, hip-hop, R&B and Afrobeats!

Come and enjoy a samba dance show with Levanta Samba and share in the spirit of Brazilian culture. On the program: Two choreographies in costume!

Join illustrator and muralist River June as she creates a mural of a South American climbing bird with a colorful beak! Curious passers-by, children and families are invited to paint on a wooden canvas with the artist!

Diogo Ramos is a singer-songwriter from Sao Paolo, Brazil. His music follows in the long tradition of popular Brazilian chansonniers.

To learn more about Lacombe’s pedestrian programming and activities, or to enter our prize draws, an information kiosk will be open every day until 9 p.m.
