As part of the Portraits of merchants & professionals of Côte-des-Neiges project, we invited Zeineb Khalfallah (@zeineb_conscience on Instagram) to join us in our visit of 11 businesses of the SDC Côte-des-Neiges who have participated in the project.
Meet Sean | Portraits of merchants and professionals of Côte-des-Neiges

Learn more about your merchants and professionals of the Côte-des-Neiges district! // Let’s meet with : Sean Yang, Owner and founder of Posher
Asian cuisine lovers who live in the Côte-des-Neiges area are probably familiar with Posher restaurant and bar. You can find sushi, dumplings, takoyaki and all sorts of tasty dishes! Several types of cocktails concocted with liquors imported from Japan are also served. Basically, this destination is a “must” for discovering a new culinary culture.
The person behind this project is Sean Yang, originally from China. At 37 years old, the young restaurateur is determined to take his customers on a journey to Asia.
His strength? Sushi! “I’ve been making sushi since 2002. Japanese chefs have passed on their knowledge to me.”, he said during our visit to his business. But that’s not all! Sean is also an artist at heart and specializes in fruit carving.
But what sets this place apart is not only its unique menu, but also its architecture and decoration.
No tables in sight, only counters. Sean explained to us that he chose this layout to ensure that customers could develop a bond with each other. Moreover, the layout, which inspires a maze, allows employees to move around well while providing the best possible service to Asian food lovers.
Founded in 2017, the restaurant was developed and the design was mostly created by Sean, who is keen on providing a high-quality experience for consumers.
In fact, the entrepreneur regularly changes the decor and menu, adapting to specific themes.
“Soon, Posher will offer a floral themed experience. The recipes offered will also be revisited,” Sean told us.
In short, through his project, Sean has succeeded in creating memories for both his clients and his employees. On one of the walls of the restaurant, several photos of them are hung.
“We have a machine that takes pictures and prints them. Employees as well as customers like to use it. These photos are memories of their time at the restaurant. It gives me great pleasure to see them every day,” said Sean.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Given the great success of its project «Portraits of Merchants and Professionals of Côte-des-Neiges» in 2021, the SDC Côte-des-Neiges is proud to present the second edition of the initiative through an exhibition as well as interviews. This project is aimed at putting residents in touch with businesses on the territory of the Société de développement commercial (SDC) Côte-des-Neiges. Through a series of portraits capturing the essence of 11 businesses, meet 17 owners and managers of local businesses. This social and cultural project is intended to be a real encounter with the human behind the professional. In this second edition, you will discover women and men, young professionals and experienced entrepreneurs, all from different cultures and backgrounds, providing a wide range of products and services. What do they all have in common? Their love for Côte-des-Neiges. Discover the exhibition on the Promenade Jean-Brillant and extend the experience online thanks to the heartfelt interviews carried out with each one of them.
Under the artistic direction of Félicia Balzano, general manager of the SDC Côte-des-Neiges, this project is an initiative of the SDC Côte-des-Neiges and made possible with the collaboration of the Maison de la culture CDN and the borough CDN- NDG.
