The largest cemetery in the country, Notre-Dame-des-Neiges is the resting place of nearly a million deceased people, including many public figures. In this sense, it plays an important role as guardian of the national memory, a role recognized by its status as a national historic site of Canada.
Founded in 1854, it ensures the rest of the deceased in respect and dignity, brings comfort and serenity and offers a space of spirituality where grieving families can gather.
Located in an incomparable natural environment within the heritage site of Mount Royal, Notre-Dame-des-Neiges has more than 13,500 trees, including many rare or remarkable specimens.
